Chancho filled me in this morning. He says,"They use it however it benefits them. They trace to see who cops are talking to, they've found cops talking to drug dealers and robbers to make deals, they also do it for coordinates in case a cop cannot be accounted for and something important is happening or hes been missing for a while." For the incident that happened the other night, if he had called and talked to me during the time that the perp jumped they could come to my house and question me about what was said during that time while they held Chancho at the precinct.

Hope it helps!TMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06055635550588656925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104426268962928026.post-64023502862120843222009-10-13T11:05:52.011-04:002009-10-13T11:05:52.011-04:00Mentioned the tracing thing last night and he was ...Mentioned the tracing thing last night and he was like "What were they looking for?" and the conversation became "So pretty much they tell their officers - we don't trust you not to call the press and we're checking on each and every move?" The only thing he could think is that perhaps they were looking for GPS coordinates to ensure everyone was where they said they were... so someone who's department does this, please fill me in!Meadowlarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208672418814503032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104426268962928026.post-68576868149932912122009-10-13T10:50:52.447-04:002009-10-13T10:50:52.447-04:00The phone tracing thing is kind of interesting. I guess it's a good thing, but that would definitely add more frustration to the mix of things.mrs. fuzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09534828778055456598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104426268962928026.post-36619769430128232242009-10-12T22:22:20.545-04:002009-10-12T22:22:20.545-04:00I just learned this myself that the police trace t...I just learned this myself that the police trace the phones that officers use while they are in the precinct and the surrounding areas. I am not fond of it, but I suppose it's to help prevent officers from spreading the word to the wrong people.TMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06055635550588656925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104426268962928026.post-67108089222074797732009-10-12T14:53:30.002-04:002009-10-12T14:53:30.002-04:00WOW,sometime I forget all the stuff my hubby is de...WOW,sometime I forget all the stuff my hubby is dealing with and i expect an immediate response after texting. When I don't get one I do think well maybe he is on a call. But after awhile I do worry, and if I can't reach whomever he is working with ahh or their spouse ,then I really worry!Always a blessing to know my officer is okay, but knowing he isn't calling or texting back means someone isn't!Glad the hubs is okay though:)mrsofficerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00214555719308482369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104426268962928026.post-16237791670775300022009-10-12T11:49:18.328-04:002009-10-12T11:49:18.328-04:00Wait!!
